Before my father and I began manufacturing guayaberas, our first focus was that we would manufacture the best fitting guayabera on the planet. My father, Rafael Contreras had the mindset of a champion and all through his life he strived for excellence. Mediocrity was never in his vocabulary and he instilled this in me, as well as an incredible work ethic. He  always said,” either do it right or not at all”. No man could outwork my father. This mission resulted in long nights measuring dimensions of neck, chest, arm holes, sleeve length in short and long sleeves. Cuffs . We measured waist ,length in the back and in the front. We created our own patterns. We cut and sewed every single size from XS to 5XL. We tried on all these prototypes and tried them on every single size on men body types that we could find.. Tall ,short, athletic build, corpulent, corpulent with big belly , big guys with athletic builds, couch potato bodies. Men with six pack abs. We took note of the results. Where the shirts were not right we took note went back to the drawing board and input the appropriate changes wherever necessary, in width in the chest ,in the size of the armholes. No detail was overlooked. We always had in mind that our guayaberas must be true to size. Since we wanted to capture the golden age of Cuba and the USA from the 1940’s and 1950’s we decided to not only manufacture guayaberas but casual shirts as well.  We applied the same zeal in creating the best fitting men’s casual shirts as well. You can tell just by the length of the side vents in our casual shirts that we look at every detail. We look at every measurement that  results in a shirt being elegant,  and make the wearer look his best. And we also know that us men we look more towards functionality and comfort over elegance.
